You can now participate in the eclipse search with the SOLARIS application
12/07/2026
The Department of Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya makes available, from today, the application of the SOLARIS project so that anyone can become the protagonist of a unique scientific research coinciding with the total solar eclipse of August 12.
The Government, together with the VHIR and the IEEC, is promoting the SOLARIS project (Tracking of Observations of Cardiac and Respiratory Activity during a Solar Eclipse), a collaborative science initiative with citizen participation that aims to study how the human body reacts to the observation of a total solar eclipse.
The data collected by the participants will allow researchers to analyze, for the first time with a large sample of the population, the relationship between an exceptional natural phenomenon, emotions and different physiological responses of the organism.
Participating is very easy. You just need a smartwatch and download the application to your mobile phone.
Download the application, register and be part of unprecedented scientific research. On August 12, you will not only look at the sky: you will also contribute to generating new scientific knowledge while living an unrepeatable experience.
Start participating by downloading the iOS app using this link. The Android version will be available soon.
Your heartbeat also advances science.
