Activities Schedule

With an eye on the solar eclipse next summer, the City Council of Torredembarra proposes an activity to anticipate the observation conditions in the municipality by the hand of the Sinibald Studies Center of Mas and the URV External Campus.

It is noted that on May 1st the astronomical conditions will be very similar to those of August 12 (the same solar position), which will allow to check on the ground the visibility from different points of the municipality. In this context, the doctor in Physics of the Rovira i Virgili University, Dr. Roger Cabré, will offer a specialized explanation that will provide the keys to identify from which places and under what conditions the eclipse of August 12 can be observed with guarantees. This session will allow to correctly interpret factors such as orientation, landscape obstacles or light conditions, thus facilitating adequate planning for the observation of the phenomenon.
